Untitled  (09.24.00)

life is confusing in all we see and do
for all we think and feel
we are only human
and we cannot choose our hearts
we cannot choose our feelings and thoughts
we look around and we find
certain friends, certain people
who make us smile, who make us feel
that we matter, that without us
perhaps the world might actually be
a darker place for our absence
we must cherish these friends
and though perhaps the heart tells us otherwise
the friendship matters most
and can never be taken away
for though we may seek to hide it
the feelings, the friendship
will shine through always showing all
the true feelings that hide there beneath
and leave people confused for what is seen and done.
